Yoga Therapy is a proccess that requires and develops self-awareness and self-regulation as a means to healing. Yoga itself is therapuetic: it is seperation from identifing with suffering.
We live with constant change, and within this framework have developed patterns that influence our behavior, perceptions, thoughts and attitudes. Your yoga therapist will help you address your patterns that may be causing harm. Together you will find positive change through observation and practice. We may heal the body through medicine or other means or modality, but we must address our deep patterns or we may end up re-creating the same or similar conditions again.
